Dear Friend of CRT,

My name is Hillary Parker.  I may look familiar to you as I’ve appeared in numerous CRT productions over the past three seasons as an MFA student in Acting.  Most recently I played Sympathy The Learned in The Arabian Nights and I played Prudence Crandall in the CRT world premiere of Prudence in February, 2006 in the Nafe Katter Theatre.

I will graduate in May with an MFA in Acting from UConn and as I look back at my nearly three years at UConn, I recall how often I would look out at the audiences and know that without you, our work on stage would be meaningless.  Actors need audiences, and I have valued having you there over the years to see and enjoy our work.  That’s why I’m writing to you today to ask you to support UConn’s professional theatre by making a donation to the Patron Fund.

Contributions to the Patron Fund are used to support general operations of Connecticut Repertory Theatre and to provide scholarships to theatre students in the Department of Dramatic Arts.  Such scholarships are invaluable to students.  And like all professional theatres, CRT relies on donations to ensure its continued success.

Upon graduation in the spring, I intend to move to New York to start my professional acting career.  My years at UConn and CRT have provided me with a great education, and eligibility to join Actors’ Equity Association.  So I’m leaving next spring well prepared and confident.  I’m asking you to contribute to the Patron’s Fund to ensure that future student actors will have the same opportunities I’ve had.

One of the unique, and best, aspects of CRT is that it not only offers emerging artists like myself a great opportunity to perform and learn alongside professional artists, but it also provides area audiences with quality professional shows.  It has been a privilege and pleasure to perform for you for these past three years.  I hope you’ve enjoyed the shows and that you’ll enjoy many more in the future, and support CRT with a donation.

Please complete and return the form at the bottom of this page.  Donations of $150 or more are recognized in our programs and on our lobby signs.  CRT plays an important role in the extraordinary cultural life we enjoy in Connecticut, so please consider playing your part in sustaining it.

Sincerely Yours,

Hillary Parker
